Privacy policy
Effective October 19, 2026.
This policy covers Pageful, a browser extension for Chrome and Edge, and the website at getpageful.com. "We" and "us" mean the people who make Pageful. The short version: the extension collects nothing, and the website stores your email address only if you join the waitlist.
The extension
What it collects
Nothing. The extension makes no network requests. It has no analytics, no crash reporting, no remote settings, and no account. It does not send your screenshots, the pages you visit, or your settings anywhere, to us or to anyone else. Its content security policy blocks network connections from the extension, and our automated tests check that it makes none.
What it stores on your device
- Settings, in the browser's extension storage on this device. The extension does not use the browser's sync storage.
- Captures, in the browser's local database (IndexedDB) for this extension. While a capture is running, its screenshots are kept there so they are not lost if the extension restarts. They are deleted once the capture is assembled.
- History of recent captures, with the page title and address, if history is on. By default it keeps the last 10 captures or 7 days, whichever comes first. You can change both, turn history off, or delete everything with Delete all in Settings.
We cannot see any of this. Removing the extension deletes all of it.
Permissions
- activeTab: lets the extension work with the tab you are on, only after you click its icon, press one of its shortcuts, or choose one of its items in the right-click menu, and only until you leave that page. The extension has no access to any site otherwise.
- contextMenus: adds Capture the whole page and Capture part of the page to the right-click menu, so you can start a capture in windows that have no toolbar. It gives no access to any page by itself.
- scripting: lets you pick part of the page when you ask to, and lets it scroll the page, hide scrollbars, and keep headers and footers from repeating during a capture. It restores the page afterward.
- storage: lets it keep your settings.
- downloads (optional): requested only if you turn on automatic downloads, and removed when you turn that setting off.
The extension does not ask for access to all websites, and it does not run on any page until you start a capture.
The extension's use of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Diagnostics and reports
The capture page has a Copy diagnostics button. It copies technical details, such as window size, zoom, browser version, and timings, to your clipboard. The page address is included only if you tick the box. The extension does not send diagnostics. If you choose to paste them into an email to us, we use them only to fix the problem and delete them when we are done.
The website
No tracking
The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising, fonts, or scripts from other companies.
The waitlist
If you join the Premium waitlist, we store:
- your email address,
- the date and time you signed up,
- which version of the consent wording you agreed to.
We store this because you asked us to, by ticking the box. We use your email only to tell you when Premium is available. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for advertising. The only other company that handles it is Google, which hosts it for us (see Hosting below).
We keep your entry until we have sent the Premium email, then delete it. You can ask us to remove it sooner at any time.
To limit abuse, the signup service counts signups from each connection for one hour. It stores a one-way hash of your IP address for this, never the address itself, and the record is deleted automatically after about two hours.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to fix the problem you report. Our email is hosted by Google (Gmail).
Hosting
The website and waitlist run on Google Firebase (Firebase Hosting, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Firestore), with data stored in the United States. Like any web host, Google processes your IP address to deliver pages and may keep server logs for a limited time under its own terms. If you live outside the United States, your waitlist entry is transferred there.
Security
The waitlist database cannot be read or written from a browser. Only the signup service can add entries, and only we can read them. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but we keep the data to a minimum so there is little to lose.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the waitlist entry we hold about you, or to stop emailing you. Email jared.newnam@gmail.com from the address you signed up with, and we will answer within 3 business days. Depending on where you live, such as in the EU, the UK, or California, you may have further rights under local law, including the right to complain to a data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information as California law defines those terms.
Children
The waitlist is not intended for children under 13, or under 16 in the EU and the UK, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has signed up, email us and we will delete the entry.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects the extension's permissions or what it collects, the extension's store listing will say so too. We will not start collecting data from the extension without asking you first.
